Downloads - Territorial Sea Act 1987

In 1987 the UK's territorial waters boundary was moved from 3 miles to 12 miles. To keep within the law this meant that pirate radio stations were forced to up anchor and move further out to sea. In the case of the Ross Revenge this meant moving from the relatively safe haven of the Knock Deep to South Falls Head.

The events of what happened after the move can be found documented in our Radio Caroline section, but the full extent of the consequences for those who failed to comply are best described by reading through the act itself;
